return-to-work accommodation services
ADA/FEHA compliance (accommodation assessment) and disability management
The California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) requires that "an employer who knows the disability of an employee has an affirmative duty" to explore possible accommodation, even in the absence of an employee's request. Under California law, every Injured Employee with permanent restrictions is a person with disability.
As a third party consultant, we meet with the employee and the HR representative or supervisor to discuss the employee's return to work through possible job modification or other available openings. HOC will:
- match the injured employee to a position within their physical capabilities and qualifications
- document this "interactive process" as required under FEHA
- assess the feasibility of job modifications
As Ergonomic Specialists, we specialize in assessing job modifications and accommodations. We also provide management of the return-to-work process as well as training.
