Ms. Hughes has worked within the Human Services field since 1977 and specifically within the Workers' Compensation field since 1980. As a Business Owner and Return to Work Specialist, she is sensitive to the needs of both the employer and employee. She is personally aware of the importance of a safe, efficient and productive worksite. She is also trained as an Ergonomic Consultant. Ms. Hughes holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University and a M.A. from California State University, Fullerton. She is designated by the State of California as an Independent Vocational Evaluator, and is certified as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and as a Case Manager (CMM).

Ms. Thornstrom joined Hughes Occupational Consultants in 1986 and has been involved with the disabled population since 1977. She has held positions in Counseling as well as Administration and therefore is familiar with Human Resource practices. She has specialized in on-site Job Analyses and Ergonomic Evaluations and is designated by the State of California as an Independent Vocational Evaluator within the Workers' Compensation system. Ms. Thornstrom holds a B.S. in Management and Organizational Behavior from the University of La Verne, and has completed several courses in Personnel Management through the University of Riverside.
DEBBIE FERNANDEZ, Return to Work Specialist/Ergonomic Consultant.
Ms Fernandez joined Hughes in 1993. Her prior experience included teaching and related counseling of both children and adults. She is bilingual, bicultural, and is completing her Bachelors degree in Psychology at California State University at Long Beach. Ms Fernandez provides a variety of services to Spanish and English speaking workers from developing job descriptions and job analysis to placement.
